Over-reaction PDF Print E-mail

Flotoonie posted a blog a short time ago.

Here is my reply:

1. I hadn't actually read the status when I enquired about your health

2. Concerns over your well-being were expressed to me by a friend who had seen the status update

3. I will tell my friends not to bother reading the blog/status in the future if this is the reaction they/I will receive

4. I work during the day so I do not have time to constantly hit refresh to see if your status has changed (I have a life!)

5. Should I continue to be ridiculed in a public forum, all concern and worry for your well-being will cease immediately

6. I read a blog some time ago that said lists of ten things were cool

7. They were mistaken

8. It is retarded to think that every single topic can have ten intelligent things written about it

9. This topic is a perfect example of this - Flotoonie's snarky blogs - who really wishes to discuss that?

10. Not me!

11. My friend who was the initial one to express concern has one last thing to say in response to Flotoonie's blog - "My sweat may as well have been blood"

 - Puh lease: "Sweat equals blood?? I'd like to see you give birth to a child!"

Hmmmm 11 items in my list - looks like I win! Tongue out

Cursed PDF Print E-mail

Today I found out that my car is cursed, jinxed or inhabited by a voodoo creature. Any of the above descriptions will do!

I have suspected this for sometime, especially since the first of many incidents involving my car since moving to Brisbane early last year.

My suspicions were confirmed today when a truck driver plowed down the street outside my workplace and collected a colleague's car which was then pushed up onto the footpath and into my car, which of course as fate would have it was parked in front of hers.

Luckily however this time the idiot who caused the accident stuck around long enough to exchange his details.

Several phone calls later and a surprisingly easy claim process through RACQ and I am waiting to see if my car will survive to live another road trip with the woofer blaring the latest Ministry track.

It will be a nervous and undecided wait as I cannot decide if it would be better to have minimal damage and it get fixed or to have the whole sorry cursed piece of metal written off. Either way it is going to be a long time before I have my perfect car again.

Don't get me wrong - I do not want to see my car written off, I love my car and especially its sound system. It is my first car and as some of you may know it used to belong to my brother before me. I do not want to see it lain to rest.

So as Rusty said to me tonight - "there is nothing that you can do at this point except wait and then make a decision when the time comes" Sound advice, but it still doesn't stop me from feeling angry, bitter, annoyed and so many other emotions.

 ARIGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Sometimes it is nice to go back to an old staple.

Especially if all you are craving after a hectic week is a home cooked meal and then settling down with either a good movie/book.

 As Homer would say:

MmmmMmmm Lamb Chops and Mash w/ Gravy.
